People say I am a perfectionist. Excessive perfectionism is a major obstacle to creative work. Creative work requires negotiation. You can’t always satisfy 100 percent after creation of work. However, I try my very best to minimize the sorriness and regret. In order to satisfy myself, I repeat endless sanding over and over. Then you can feel the curvature of the surface with the tip of your finger. It is time to trust the sense of touch rather than the vision. More the sanding, more beautiful and delicate the curvature gets. Just like that the hard work comes to an end and a beautiful doll is created.
It is finally relieving when we perform the final surfacer job after the protype is finished. Another doll is finally added to the list. I like the doll even though it has the wan cold grey color and is dry looking as if it is dead. Since it is colorless, the shape is more evidently clear and the contrast is strong and lucid as a black and white photo.
Amanda Beauty head is finally finished. The final finish got delayed as we were obsessively focusing on refining the joint structure and expression of detail. I aplogize to those who has trusted me and placed a preorder. From now on, we will take orders only when the prototype is perfectly finished and casted. The shipping will begin soon.
Porsche is my favorite car. Oddly enough, the doll I make resembles the curvature of a porsche. A close friend of mine once told me “It looks like you are building a porsche when you handmake the doll”. In fact, my dream was to become an automobile designer. I personally think the motivated attitude is important whether you are building a car or a doll.
I truly believe the quality of a creation depends on the attitude and mind of the creator.
